My Approach To Speech Therapy
Therapy should feel safe, supportive and empowering. My approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. I take the time to truly get to know each client - their strengths, challenges, and personal goals - so we can work together to build skills that make a difference in everyday life. I believe partnering with families and caregivers, because communication doesn't stop at therapy, it thrives when we all work together!
What A Session Looks Like With Susan
Every session is tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. We typically begin with a quick check in to see how things have been going and to review any updates. From there, we move into a series of engaging, goal focused activities. Depending on the client's age and needs, sessions may include structured tasks, conversation practice, or real-life scenarios. I always aim to create a warm, relaxed environment where clients feel safe to take risks, learn and grow.
Fun Facts About Susan
At the end of each session, I provide a brief summary and, when appropriate, suggestions for how families or caregivers can support progress at home. I believe consistency and collaboration are key to long-term success.
