
Kimberly Osam
Kimberly graduated from New York University, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Master of Science Program in Speech-Language Pathology. She founded and serve as President of I am Speech Therapy: Speech, Language, Cognition, Swallowing and Voice, PLLC. As an experienced speech-language pathologist who holds the American Speech-Language and Hearing (ASHA) Certification of Clinical Competency (CCC), Kimberly has experience working in schools, outpatient facilities, home health, private practice, and hospital settings. She has experience spanning from early intervention to geriatrics with specialties in augmentative and alternative communication and voice. She has expertise in multi-modal communication across the life span, as well as articulation, language, voice, cognition and swallowing conditions. She also hold certification in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LVST) protocol. I am a disability advocate and currently serve on committees and working groups for the Commonwealth of Virginia and have also served on advocacy committees at the regional and local levels.
My Approach To Speech Therapy
My approach to therapy is constructivist-mind, affirming and patient centered through relationship building and inclusion, while using evidenced-based treatments to provide habilitation, rehabilitation and to improve quality of life for patients from early intervention to geriatrics.
What A Session Looks Like With Kim
Each session with me is unique and tailored to the individual using assessment and treatments that are functional for each client by combining standardized and non standard tools based on patient values, diagnosis and prognosis.
