
Kate Koval
Kate Koval is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist based in the south Chicagoland area. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and both Bachelor and Master of Health Science degrees in Communication Disorders. Kate has over a decade of experience in the nonprofit field, focusing on both youth and adult education and community organizing. In 2014, her father sustained a severe traumatic brain injury and received years of OT, PT, and SLP services during his rehabilitation. This led Kate to change careers and become a speech-language pathologist after learning so much about the field as a family member and caretaker of a patient. She has gained experience in a variety of settings, including the public school system, therapeutic day school, home health, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient rehabilitation, and acute care in a hospital. Kate enjoys working with both children and adults and has experience treating a variety of communication disorders and differences, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, intellectual disabilities, genetic disorders, stroke, dementia, traumatic brain injury, swallowing disorders, and voice disorders.
