Elyse Helbig Guevara
I'm a pediatric speech-language pathologist dedicated to supporting every child’s unique communication journey. My practice embraces a total communication approach—honoring and integrating all forms of communication, whether spoken words, gestures, AAC, sign language, or behavior. I believe communication should be empowering, accessible, and affirming of each child’s strengths and needs. I have experience working with children with a wide range of communication profiles, including speech and language delays, speech sound disorders, autism, AAC users, and medically complex individuals. My practice is rooted in acceptance and respect for neurodiversity, and I partner closely with families to create individualized, functional goals that truly support connection and self-expression.n My Approach To Speech Therapy
I take a child-led, play-based approach, making learning fun, engaging, and meaningful. I believe in total communication, using speech, gestures, play, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to meet each child where they are. I’m neurodiversity-affirming and passionate about partnering with families, providing coaching and strategies so skills continue to grow at home. Every session is filled with energy, creativity, and celebration of progress, helping children build confidence, communication skills, and a love of learning.
What A Session Looks Like With Elyse
Each session is child-led, play-based, and tailored to your child’s needs. I use toys, games, and fun activities to make learning speech, language, and social skills exciting and meaningful. I believe parents and caregivers are key partners, so I include coaching and strategies throughout the session — empowering you to reinforce skills at home. Expect lots of energy, encouragement, and celebration of every success, big or small! My goal is to make therapy fun, supportive, and a place where your child can thrive, build confidence, and love communicating.
