Christie Haigh
Christie has over twenty years of experience working with children to improve their communication skills and believes all children should feel confident and understood. She holds a masters in Speech-Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association. She has supported a variety of children ages two through adolescence with speech and language disorders, including those with down syndrome, autism, and sensory regulation needs. She co-treated preschoolers with an occupational therapist in an integrated group setting.
My Approach To Speech Therapy
My connection with your child is my main priority in therapy. I believe children should feel safe and regulated in order to learn. I plan sessions that incorporate movement and play. Family-centered approach means that I listen and address your concerns and goals. My desire is to help families and caregivers learn how to encourage speech and language growth outside of therapy time.
What A Session Looks Like With Christie
A session may look like play time and having fun, while delivering impactful evidence-based intervention. My therapy bag may include bubbles, puzzles, toys, games, and books to foster an engaging and playful connection.
