Andrea Lacey, M.A., CCC-SLP is a dedicated and enthusiastic speech-language pathologist with over six years of experience working with children 10 months to 18 years in the school, home, and private practice settings. Andrea brings energy, compassion, and creativity to every session. She specializes in speech sound development, expressive and receptive language, social communication, fluency, voice, early language development, and apraxia. Andrea also has a strong background in supporting children with autism and language-based literacy challenges. Her therapy style is highly collaborative and multi-modal, incorporating spoken language, sign language, and AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) tools to meet each child where they are. As a PROMPT Level II trained clinician, she offers specialized support for children with motor planning disorders. A firm believer in empowering and supporting families, Andrea emphasizes parent and caregiver education/collaboration to ensure progress continues beyond the therapy room. She earned her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Kean University in New Jersey, holds certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is licensed in Washington State.
My Approach To Speech Therapy
I believe in putting the “fun” in functional; as therapy should be both engaging and effective. I take a child-centered, flexible approach to therapy. Whether it's play-based learning or structured activities, I use my creativity and flexibility to tailor my teaching style to support both the child and their family. I strive to collaborate closely with families to create personalized treatment plans to focus on meaningful, functional goals that can be supported and carried over across all environments—from home, to school, to the playground, and beyond.
What A Session Looks Like With Andrea
I offer both in-person and virtual speech therapy sessions designed to support your child’s unique communication goals. Each session is thoughtfully planned with targeted activities to build specific skills, while remaining flexible and responsive to your child’s interests, needs, and progress. Therapy is engaging, personalized, and paced to keep your child motivated and confident. At the end of each session, I reserve a few minutes for a talk down—sharing updates, answering questions, and discussing plans for the next steps—so that you feel informed and involved every step of the way.
