Nikki Lopez
Nikki is a licensed and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with specialized expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), early intervention, and pediatric Total Communication strategies. She has worked in various clinical settings, including in-home early intervention, private practice, preschools, and multidisciplinary care teams. Nikki's clinical work centers around supporting children with complex communication needs—such as those with autism, developmental delays, genetic syndromes, and multiple disabilities—by using multimodal tools such as speech, sign language, gestures, visuals, and AAC technology. She guides families through device trials, implementation, and ongoing use of both low-tech and high-tech AAC systems.
My Approach To Speech Therapy
As a therapist, I approach each child with respect, curiosity, and joy. My work is rooted in the belief that all communication is meaningful and that every child deserves access to tools and strategies that support their autonomy, connection, and self-expression.
